Golf watch? Or Apple Watch?
Main Post:
I don’t wear watches on a daily basis, and this would likely only be worn during rounds.
I don’t need anything feature rich. I mostly just want front/center/back of the green.
I currently use Grint on my phone, if that matters. But I’m willing to use any platform that works well and is free (or cheap and worth the price).
Top Comment: I wear the apple and use the grint. Only thing I have an issue with is the watch app has to play catch up sometimes on the distances. But that takes 2 or 3 seconds.
Limmy Streaming PGA Tour 2K21
Main Post: Limmy Streaming PGA Tour 2K21
Top Comment:
I don't know if many of you know Limmy (Scottish comedian turned Twitch streamer) but he's been streaming PGA Tour 2K21 and thought you might get some entertainment out of it.
EDIT: Why the dislike? Not much golf to watch just now and not much golf to play in the Northern Hemisphere - thought maybe some alternative golf based entertainment might fill the hole for some.
What do you guys do to watch golf?
Main Post:
My espn+ subscription cuts the main event off at 2 even if they are going to play more, and my peacock subscription only has days 3 and 4 and starts at 1 missing the first half of the day. How do you guys watch the game?
Top Comment: Golf channel Thursday, Friday, and weekend mornings. Then NBC or CBS once their contract kicks in. ESPN+ for groups not covered by the main feed. Golf channel, NBC, and CBS are is most basic cable packages. Edit: why are people still replying to this it’s a very old post.

Top Comment: Thank you as well.
How do I watch golf
Main Post:
Hello everyone. I recently came across golf clips and discovered that golf can be fun. Now I want to get into it. Idk what to watch or where to watch. So any suggestions on how I can stream golf? (Free platforms preferably)
Top Comment: There is LOADS of YouTube golf out there, anything from swing drills, people playing beautiful courses, match play games, equipment reviews and most of it is quite light and made for entertainment. LIV golf is free to watch on YouTube and their app (usually) but (L)PGA/DPWT and most other pro tours are usually broadcast on subscription packages (depending on where you are I guess... Here in the UK we need a sub to watch anything!).
Golf watches
Main Post:
I’m looking at getting my boyfriend a golf watch for Christmas. He doesn’t really want an Apple Watch so I’ve been shopping around and I was sold on the Garmin S12, but I just came across the Shot Scope V5 and now I’m wondering if that is better than any Garmin series watch?
Any opinions appreciated :)
Top Comment: If you’re getting a garmin watch go with the approach series - s62 or s70 - these are their dedicated golf watches. I have the s62 and can’t recommend it enough, the s70 is just the newest version. Hands down my favorite thing I’ve bought for golf and I wear it every single round. Really great for tracking stats too.
Do you watch golf?
Main Post:
I’ve never been a lover of watching sport. I tried to watch the Masters, couldn’t. I tried to watch the Ryder cup, again I found it unbearable.
I love golf and I’m so glad I found it, but god I find it boring to watch.
Do you all just grit and bear it?
Top Comment: This is a poorly worded question. It makes it seem like no one watches golf and enjoys it. Obviously plenty of people do. I like watching it, including plenty of women’s golf. But if other don’t, that’s fine. I don’t watch Lord of Rings or Harry Potter. Millions of people do and love it, and that’s also fine.
Best Watch for Golf?
Main Post:
Currently use the Apple Watch with the 18Birdies app and like it. Considering switching to a golf specific watch cause my Apple Watch's battery only lasts a single 18 at this point.
I figured instead of getting a new Apple Watch (which I only use for golf cause I like regular watches too much) I'd ask y'all for recs.
Things I like about 18Birdies App that I would want an equivalent or better version of:
- Distance to middle, front, back of green
- Manual Score tracking, putt count tracking
- Manual shot tracking initiation
Things I think I'm missing:
- Distance to hazards
- BATTERY LIFE (ideally more than one 18 round lol)
Lemme know what y'all use! (and why)
Top Comment: Garmin makes the best dedicated golf smart watches imo. I use the Approach S70 and love it. If you are a watch connoisseur, check out the Marq golf watch.
Anybody know any good sites to stream golf tournaments for free?

Let's talk golf watches (again)
Main Post:
I just spent an hour reading Reddit threads about what golf watches people use, and I feel like I've learned nothing.
With that being said. What watch do you use, and why do you like.
Necessary features in a watch I would buy:
- distances to green (front back middle)
- shot tracking / which club was used
Features I think are cool:
- course graphic
- hazard distances
- smart watch features (texts etc)
- sport features (heart monitor, sleep tracking etc)
Very interested in what you guys use.
Thanks!
Top Comment: ShotScope v3. Front middle back distances. Club tracking. Distances to hazards. ~$200 USD with no subscriptions. You don't need to interact with a phone or even have it with you. The benefit is the dashboard. You get actual SG analysis by shot. Dashboard gives you enough information to inform your practice. For golf, it's ShotScope and Arccos. Nothing else compares to those. I switched away from Garmin since the data side is terrible.
